Bad run today! a DNF..
Defo felt considerably tired ++ by km 3-5 as compared to the previous days Tried to keep a ‘comfortable hard’ pace at about km 2, but that probably contributed to the sucking up of energy!!
Started semi walking once i hit Botanical Gardens, and then walked mostly all the way back
Analyze what was going on while walking back..several reasons for today’s DNF:
– so we had a partayy at char’s last night to celebrate end of HOship and stuff (fun :P), loads of alcohol and i didnt rehydrate enough- maybe just a grand total of 1.5 cups of water when i got back :x didnt even hydrate much before i set off on my run even though i felt thirsty
– havent done day runs in MONTHS! only night runs or runs on the treadmill in the gym. the sun really takes a lot of water out of you my thirst was really bad, didnt bring out any cash (and not even my ezlink card!!) so i couldnt stop by to buy a drinnk anywhere
2. LACK OF SLEEP
– so i crashed at char’s place till abt 6+am, dropped xtina home then got home by abt 7am, then had a nice leisurely breakfast by my poolside, had abt a 2 hrs nap then i was out and about i was really sleeppy!! esp when i started walking after the loop around botanical gardens energy level was low +, i was fine with walking but when i tried to pick up a lil speed by jogging, just couldnt do it! stomach felt hungry, a lil crampy, just zilch, nada!
3. BAD STRATEGY
– shouldnt have tried to do that lil ‘tempo run’ at km 2 esp if i was planning on a long distance run today, and i havent done any speedwork training proper yet (plan is for distance/mileage for these 2 wks first) bad idea dobbie!! :(
